Welcome to Talbenny Hall Holiday Cottages, located just
over a mile from Little Haven in Pembrokeshire, West Wales and perfectly
located for Dale, Marloes, Little Haven and Broad Haven. Talbenny Hall
Holiday Cottages is owned by Rod and Daphne who moved to Pembrokeshire
1993 from Pershore, Worcestershire, where Rod was a partner in a commercial
interior design practice specializing in hotel, pub and leisure projects.
Rod’s
family were originally from Milford Haven, so there was an element
of ‘coming home’ for him. Following the purchase
of Talbenny Hall in 1991, which together with the adjacent stone barns
was in a near derelict state, they set about getting the house habitable,
and the barns converted to self-catering holiday cottages, and once they
were used to the infamous ‘Pembrokeshire Promise’ the
cottages were ready for business in April 1995, you lucky holiday makers
you!
The
family is steeped in the visual arts, and this is reflected in the cottage
interiors where there is a wealth of paintings, drawings, driftwood sculptures
etc on display.
According to records Talbenny Hall dates back to the 14th century, though
not in it’s present state, which is a 19th century farmhouse, and
it stands in approximately 4 acres of grounds.
With ample parking for cars and boats, there are fascinating
wild and natural areas to explore, with interesting and hidden pathways,
a small lake bursting with goldfish, as long as the heron doesn’t
eat them all first! There’s a boule piste n’est pas, a barbecue,
and many spots to sit awhile to watch the abundant wildlife, read a book,
take a glass of wine, or just let the day take it’s slow lazy course
to a lovely sunset and another deserved quiet evening in Talbenny.
